Activity-based teaching is the basis of the academic methodology at Hasanat across all levels – pre-primary to secondary. The learning milieu draws a link with real life experiences. The activity-based method, therefore, weaves into its fold, ample scope for projects, experiments, field trips based on the school syllabus for each class and 'hands on experience' that develops the faculties of reasoning and application - to the extent that a vermin-compost pit is maintained by the older students and the compost is used in the school garden.
Extensive use is made of audio-visual techniques, computer-aided learning, visual aids, charts, models, games, role plays, art, LCD's, worksheets, etc., to stimulate the learning process and make it more significant.
Thus, the curriculum is imparted using lateral thinking strategies, where the child discovers the joy of learning and realizes his/her own potential. This also facilitates a more comprehensive and holistic evaluation of the child. Rote learning, thus, has no place in the classroom and students are encouraged to use a variety of sources such as the Internet and Encyclopedias to enrich their knowledge. Computer Education as a subject is introduced from Std III in the school.
